Nokia Lumia Presents: Little Amazing Show – Episode 5: Paris

Little Amazings are happening All Around you!

Posted by admin on December 8, 2011

As part of the worldwide promotion for its Lumia phone, Nokia have a series of weekly episodes running on the Nokia Facebook page under the title The Little Amazing Show. The idea is for each short episode to feature a different location, bringing people together for a bit of fun and play. Every Monday, a mini soap-opera episode offers a feel-good slice of life by setting up a simple scenario for passers-by to encounter and then engage with. A sort of people participation installation!

Nokia have coined a phrase “Little Amazings” to describe these small but fun occurrences that are happening all around us, that we can make happen and be part of, and of course record them and share them using the Nokia Lumia phone.

In the latest offering, Episode 3, the happening is in Madrid, where a DJ set is set up to provide an impromptu mini night club experience outdoors on the street. Here’s the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5n2amTXDhg

The first episode was set in Berlin, and the second in London. In Berlin an old piano was set up in an open urban space with a big sign “Play Me” above it.

In London a see-saw rigged to lighting effects was set up on the South Bank beside the River Thames.

You can see all three of them below, and thereafter catch the new episodes on Facebook each Monday, at http://www.facebook.com/nokia

So what’s the thinking behind the series? Well it’s clear that Nokia are pulling out all the stops to promote the Lumia phone. This is serious make or break stuff. The advertising is different from your usual “here’s the phone- look at all these features- you want it- buy it” type of promotion. Nokia’s advertising is people-centric and focuses more on life, and people and enjoying the little good things in every day. The phone is in background, as a sleeper, but it’s definitely there. There’s also a consistent thread of friendship running through the episodes- and a lot of the images are of two people, objects or images films in together and in harmony.

It’s an unusual campaign but judging by the comments to date, is effective. It sparks an interest to see where the next episode will take you, and what the next “Little Amazing” will be. The Nokia Lumia becomes not just a phone, but almost a philosophy and a way of life- engaging with other people to enjoy, record and share encounters both large and small.

Interestingly, some people have been left a little baffled by the episodes, and want a more traditional cut-to-the-chase advert that sets out what the phone can do, so a straight comparison can be made with other phones. But they appear to be in the minority, and the majority reaction is that the episodes are slick, interesting, fun and don’t insult the audience. That must be good, and a little amazing in itself!

Here are the current episodes:

Cheap and cheerful or five-star all the way – what type of consumer are you?!

I am sure that there are certain things that are genetic or handed down from your own parents. Like what political party you vote for or whether you like pets or not. The same thing goes for how you choose to buy large appliances and pieces of technology. Do you always go for the most expensive and top well known brand or are you just as happy buying a lesser known brand for a cheaper deal? What type are you?

I like to think of myself as a bit of a mix – a bit of both. For me, it depends on what I’m buying. If it’s basics like kids summer t-shirts then the cheaper the better, but if it’s a piece of kitchen equipment then I’ll always stick with a brand that I know and trust.

The last piece of kit that I bought was for the whole family really, a panasonic bread maker. I had done all of the research and it cam up again and again as a reliable and versatile machine with many top features coming as standard. It didn’t take much to persuade me – panasonic and me go way back – but the panasonic bread maker recipes book that was included in the price was what finally sealed the deal !

Property Customers Guide Buying property is a heavy investment call that needs a large amount of thought.

It also guides you on the abundant options that are accessible in making that purchase call as easy as practical. Taking property can be straightforward if you know how and if you follow the required steps. These are some of the most critical steps in taking that piece of property you have been hungering for : one. Among the 1st steps to taking property is deciding what your property desires are. To help you in making this call, make a wish list covering preferred location, kind of property ( detached, house ), number of bedrooms, for example. When you have done this, look for an estate agent. 2.Alternatively, you may use the web to go searching for properties that meet your wishes, shortlist the ones that look fascinating to you and contact the estate agent under whom the properties are listed for an appointment and arranging viewing of the property. 3. At roughly that point you will doubtless already know what the cost of the property you are having a look at is and it’s time to outline however much you are able to afford to pay at what rate. Irregularly will you be in a position to afford to make full money payment for the property, and although you might and unless there is a gigantic discount for money payments, this option isn’t occasionally advisable, due to cost of cash. A good rough rule for the continuous payments is that, in mix with your other repayment wants shouldn’t exceed 40 p.c of your net monthly cash. 4.

Then you make your offer. You might have already arranged your house loan through a bank to finance the purchase however if not, this is the time to go trying to find the correct mortgage for you. There are a large quantity of firms offering mortgages but make sure you research these firms before making your choice ( refer to the mortgage guide for more details ). Decide on the best offer which should apply to your payment capacity. 5. Typically the bank will build your capacity to pay by referencing either prior months pay slips or, in the case of the self-employed, previous year’s accounts.

They’re going to take into account debts and assets as well as determining possession and price of the property to be mortgaged. Going through the legal process of a mortgage is aided by a conveyancer ( attorney ) and the bank. On completion of the must haves, the legal documentation will be prepared by the conveyancer and must be signed by both mortgager and mortgagee and duly notarised. This occasionally has a promissory note, a mortgage agreement and stipulation statement. 6. Once you have found your property, have a mortgage and have started to make your payments for a fair period, it’s now applicable for you to begin to think of paths to make your house loan work for you. One way is remortgaging, which is the technique of paying off one mortgage with another one so as to release capital or milk lower mortgage rates at a certain point. An alternate way is to make mortgage overpayments whenever possible to lower the total interest you pay since the mortgage rates will be applied on a lower amount. Releasing equity ( borrowing additional money from your home loan property based rising in value of your property ) is a method to generate money even though your property is still under mortgage.

If you have more than one mortgage, with the value of one property adequate to cover the leftover capital of many or all of the mortgages, you could like to consider debt consolidation, which is just outlined as the technique of placing all of your mortgage obligations from 1 or 2 real estate properties into less properties.

Purchasing property isn’t a simple task after all. Nevertheless with a correct patrons guide, and an experience of the ideas of handling mortgages, like remortgaging, mortgage overpayments, releasing equity and debt consolidation, the experience doesn’t have to be distressing, it may turn out to be lucrative, too.

Part of the expansion in renown of these airlines is they are so simple to work with on the internet. Unlike traditional airlines that use ticket agents and travel agents and need you to purchase your tickets in real life, the minimal cost airlines made everything available thru a straightforward and all-embracing web site that everybody could understand and use. The strategy of selling air tickets became so popular that these airlines are teaching the more conventional airlines the way to act and are leading the way in creativity in the sale and selling of these flights. All it needs to get them is a Visa card or ATM card.
You go to the site, choose your details, that’s your destination airport and your leaving airfield, and tell them what dates you want to travel. Straight away you are quoted costs for all of the flights on that day. If you can be flexible about your travel dates, they’ll also show you the costs for alternative dates and let you book those flights, that might be far cheaper. The system is so open and clear it’s a major refreshment for those folks that are used to handling normal ticket agents. The convenience does not end there either.
